Ceyhun Yilmaz

On February 15, 2017, Atakent Campus hosted Ceyhun Yılmaz, one of the beloved names of the humor world. Known for his effective communication and humorous style, Yılmaz said, “How can social media not be used?” He met with the students in his interview.

Yılmaz discussed the effects of the unconscious use of social media on individuals and society from his own humorous perspective. He told the participants about the common mistakes made on social media, the ethical rules to be considered and the importance of digital footprints. Emphasizing that social media is not only a sharing area, but also a platform of responsibility, Yılmaz said, “Everything you share may represent you one day, so it should be your greatest awareness to think before writing.”

The conversation continued with questions from the students and an interactive chat environment. Yılmaz’s striking and thought-provoking anecdotes once again reminded us that the use of social media should be consciously shaped.
